In Outlook 2007, you are notified in the right bottom corner. In Outlook 2003, the dialog pops-up in the middle of your screen. The Outlook team has heard your feedback though and in Outlook 2010, there is a large yellow banner reminding you that Automatic Replies is still turned on. This will make sure that there will be a new task generated for the next recurrence. When the reminder pops-up in the morning, make sure you mark it as complete (right click on the task in the Reminder Window) instead of pressing the Dismiss button. To create a recurring task choose File-> New-> Task and in the Task window press the Recurrence button on the Ribbon. Go to the Tags group, and click Follow Up. Also note that the size of the balloon pop-up is slightly bigger on Windows Vista and Windows 7 than it is on Windows XP.
